Glow Glow is Pauline and Carl Baumberger, working out of Mandel in the Nahe. Pauline grew up on her parents’ estate, left to study communication design in The Hague and spent time in Berlin and Paris before coming back to wine; her brother Carl joined her in 2020. The labels are among the best-looking in Germany and the wines are built for drinking rather than contemplating.
The Nahe sits between the Mosel and Rheinhessen with a patchwork of soils packed into a small area. The house approach is an early pick for low alcohol and bright acidity, spontaneous fermentation, and a cellar that reaches for skin contact or carbonic maceration depending on what the grape wants.
This is a new skin-contact bottling and we have not tried it yet but we expect the Glow Glow signature all the same: light on its feet, aromatic, and very drinkable
