Description
Orange 2023 is a natural wine crafted by , on the volcanic island of Pantelleria, close to Sicily in . This orange wine is made with 100% grapes, and is made by Battista Belvisi und Beppe Fontana, who also used to work for island superstar Gabrio Bini in the past.
This vibrant Zibibbo (known elsewhere as Mosctell or Muscat of Alexandria) sees skin contact maceration for 30 days, before being aged for 5 months partly in stainless steel and partly in chestnut barrels, with no SO2 additions (to our knowledge) .
It is an expressive and aromatic Zibibbo with tangy citrus rinds, herbal bitters, jasmine, vanilla elderflower, ripe peach. Floral and fruity, with good depth, gentle grip and a warm, textured finish with mild, integrated tannins. Finish in one sitting, as it will not hold the next day
