Description
Yellowstone American Single Malt is made at Limestone Branch Distillery in Lebanon, Kentucky, the home of the Yellowstone brand. Every drop is distilled from 100% malted barley.
The whiskey ages four years in new charred American oak. It is bottled at 108 proof, or 54% ABV. Master Distiller Stephen Beam called it “a brand-new category of American whiskey”.
Cereal malt and honey meet you on the nose, with a faint trace of peach blossom. The palate is sweet and medium bodied, with pear, dates and stone fruit. A few drops of water bring out soft cinnamon and toasted walnut. A clean oak note carries the finish.
Fans of will find a new side of the brand here. It is also a good next step if you are exploring beyond bourbon. Sip it neat first, then add water and watch the fruit open up. Dark chocolate, nuts or grilled meats make good partners.
