World Whiskey Society Classic Collection 10 Year Wheated Bourbon Port Cask Finish is a wheated straight bourbon aged a decade in new charred American oak before resting in Ruby Port casks for a secondary finish. The bottle carries the Classic Collection’s signature look, a pewter knight-helmet stopper set over cork above a vintage engraved label, and sits alongside sibling Classic Collection releases finished in Cognac, Rum, Tequila, and Peated casks.
The wheated mash bill gives a soft, rounded sweetness that the Port finish layers with deep fruit and richness. Expect a deep ruby-tinged mahogany color, a nose of red grapes, plum, cherry, honey, and toasted oak, and a palate built on wheat-driven sweetness with ruby port character, dried fruit, vanilla, and baking spice. The finish lingers with light tannin alongside dried fruit, baking spice, and warm oak.
