Description
Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon. Master Distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell choose each barrel themselves. Since every bottle comes from just one barrel, no two releases taste exactly alike.
The bourbon ages for at least eight years before bottling. It is then brought down to 101 proof with limestone-filtered water. It is non-chill filtered, so the full body stays intact. Each neck label is written by hand with the barrel number, warehouse, rickhouse and date.
On the nose you’ll find rich oak and vanilla, with caramel and a touch of leather. The palate is full and round, bringing vanilla, almond and honey. The finish is long and smooth.
Kentucky Spirit has a strong record with judges. It won a Gold Medal from the Beverage Testing Institute in 2018. Three years later, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded it Gold too. The Ultimate Spirits Challenge rated it 92 points in 2021 as well.
Pour it neat first. Later, try a few drops of water or a single big cube of ice. Smoked brisket, pecan pie, aged cheddar and dark chocolate all match it well. It’s a fun bottle for anyone curious about how a single barrel can stand apart.
