Description
Quercus garryana, or Garry Oak, grows only in the Pacific Northwest, and Westland built this series around what that wood contributes to American single malt. The ninth edition sets Pale Malt and Oloroso Sherry cask maturation beside the firmer influence of Garry Oak, so the lighter, brighter side of the whiskey plays against deeper, darker tones.
The result is a layered 700 ml bottling at 50% ABV, with a balanced profile, a smooth texture and quieter details that show the care behind it. As with each release in the Garryana run, this edition reads as another look at how a regional oak expresses its terroir.
