Watertown Coconut Whiskey blends traditional rye whiskey with natural coconut flavor. Three childhood friends from Watertown, Massachusetts, started the brand and named it after their hometown. Co-founder and CEO Mikey Bortone competed on Survivor: Micronesia. His time on the island sparked the coconut idea. The whiskey first reached shelves in 2023.
It starts with rye that is distilled and bottled in California. It is bottled at 73 proof, or 36.5% ABV, so it stays easygoing. The founders keep it low in sugar. That helps it taste fresh rather than syrupy.
