American Single Malt Port Cask Reserve is an American single malt whisky from Virginia Distillery Co. in Lovingston, Nelson County, at the foot of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The malt is finished in port wine casks, which add layers of dried fruit, berry sweetness and gentle tannin to its malty, oak-driven base.
Best enjoyed neat or with a single large ice cube to let the port cask influence open up. The fruit-forward profile also makes it a strong base for stirred, spirit-forward cocktails where its character can anchor the drink without being masked.
