Here the pungent nose presently is composed by notes of reduction and very generous wood so I would strongly advise decanting this if you’re tempted to try a bottle on the younger side. Otherwise the very rich, concentrated and full-bodied flavors possess seriously good power and buckets of palate coating extract that serves to buffer the firm acid spine on the hugely long finish where a touch of wood resurfaces. This is a notably big but well-balanced effort that should amply reward 5 or so years of cellaring. 92/2020+
