Winemaker’s Notes
Venge Vineyards Scout’s Honor Proprietary Red 2024 is a rich and full-bodied wine that pays tribute to the loyal and beloved Labrador Retriever, Scout. The winemakers start with an old-vine Zinfandel base, layering on dry-farmed Petite Sirah, old-vine Charbono, and mountain vineyard Syrah to create a complex and delicious blend. On the nose, aromas of violets, dried cinnamon, and white flowers mix with fresh cut blue herbs and a touch of barrel toast.
The palate is filled with black fruits, sweet currants, and pepper spice, with an enveloping masculinity of char and tannins from the Syrah, Charbono, and Petite Sirah. This wine is seamless and balanced, coating the mouth with deliciousness and leading to a pleasing and long finish. Enjoy it now, or cellar it correctly for 7 to 10 years to enhance its aging potential.
