Production details of La Musa: La Musa is made by Deirdre O’Brien and Maurizio Caffer at Val Liberata in Villamiroglio, in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont. The Irish-Italian couple have run the farm using a lunar-calendar approach since 2014. The wine is 100% Nebbiolo from 1.5 hectares of clay soils, with a range of clonal types to promote biodiversity. The grapes ferment on the skins for 21 days in cement tanks, then age 11 months. No added sulphur. 13.5% alcohol.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of La Musa by Val Liberata, but we hear it has notes of delicate floral lift, red fruit, light smoke and a meaty Nebbiolo edge.
