Description
Made in the pechuga tradition, this mezcal from Tio Rey takes a final pass through the still with fresh fruit and spices hanging in the vapor path, which lends flavor without any additives. The result is a 750 ml bottle at 49.8% ABV that carries the imprint of that third distillation.
Smoke sits at the base, with tropical fruit and cinnamon spice layered over it and an herbal thread running through the finish. It’s a straightforward expression of how mezcal is made in Oaxaca, shaped by the hands of the mezcalero rather than by production shortcuts.
