Bottled at 86 proof (43% ABV) in a 750 ml format, this Top Shelf Single Barrel Select from Myers’s Rum comes from one hand-picked cask rather than a large blend. Drawing the barrel individually lets the traits of that particular cask shape the rum, showing what Jamaican rum production can deliver at the premium end.
Expect dark molasses up front, with banana and tropical fruit filling in and oak spice running underneath. The finish stays warm. It drinks well neat, and it holds its own in tiki cocktails where layered rum character matters.
