Tasting Notes for Trousseau Le Ginglet 2022 by Tony Bornard

Whilst we have not yet tried this exact vintage of Trousseau Le Ginglet 2022, we hear it has notes of wild strawberries, red cherry, and rose petals on the nose, with subtle hints of lemony balm and forest pine resin adding a delicate herbal and resinous complexity.

On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied and very juicy, featuring bright acidity, a softly yeasty, brioche-like texture from lees contact, and fine but assertive tannins. The overall impression is a vibrant and slightly rustic Jura Trousseau, full of spicy, savoury nuances beneath its fresh fruit character, with a glouglou feel that emphasizes drinkability while also offering potential for a few years of cellaring.

TONY BORNARD DOCUMENTARY

One of our first documentaries many years ago was with Tony Bornard, at a time when he had just build his new winery in Pupillin, and literally in the process of moving barrels in from the old cellar of Philippe Bornard into the new place up the road. This process of change was an important period for Tony Bornard and he opens up about this and the emotional aspects related to it.
