Description
Les Marnes 2018 is an incredible, oxidative natural wine crafted by , in the Jura region in . This very expressive, and quite awesome white wine is made with 100% grapes.
Holy sh*t… this is “wow wine” straightaway! Smells incredible, so inviting in all its nutty, oxidative dreamyness. Lively and sensual notes of sultanas, cinnamon, walnut, white pepper and a fantastic roundedness BUT also piercing acidity that works so well amongst the oxidative notes. Really such a contrast it becomes a union, boosting each other in the best way. This wine is what you should be bringing out at the dinner party when the cheeseboard shows itself. Seriously awesome and worth every penny.
Technical details of Tony Bornard ‘Les Marnes 2018’
Pressing with light settling. Fermentation in tanks and aging in barrels. This wine is topped up in its first year but the rest until 2025 is aged sous voile, utilising a veil of yeast which forms on the surface, protecting it from too much oxidation to spoil, but allowing enough to develop oxidative notes. No added sulphites at any time, as with all Tony Bornard wines. This wine has aged for 6 years in the barrel
