After its initial maturation as Kentucky straight bourbon, this 750 ml release from Thomas S. Moore spends additional time in Spanish sherry casks, bottled at 49.35% ABV. The sherry influence layers dried fruit and toffee over the bourbon’s own vanilla and caramel, with a touch of spice and oak running through it.
The secondary cask brings added depth without covering the whiskey underneath, giving a bourbon with a wine-influenced character. It suits drinkers who take their time with a pour and like the way finishing casks reshape a familiar profile.
