Twenty-seven years in cask shaped this Ben Nevis single malt, released under the Director’s Special label from The Single Malts of Scotland. The long maturation shows in the whisky’s layered character, with dried fruit and spice sitting against deep oak. Bottled at cask strength, 49.5% ABV, the 700 ml bottle carries the flavour undiluted, in the manner expected of an extensively aged Highland malt from this Scottish distillery.
