The Prisoner Wine Company’s 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Napa Valley and presents a broad, polished palate with a plush opening, generous center and persistent finish. Black coffee and dried red berries appear in the winery’s sensory profile, joined by cinnamon bark, clove and dried currant.
A second layer of cassis, blackberry and dark plum is framed by bay leaf, cracked pepper and toasted vanilla character. Fifteen months in French and American oak, including 55% new barrels, adds spice and structure while preserving the producer’s intended balance of vivid fruit and savory depth.
