Description
The Block Distilling Co Helluva Straight Wheat Whiskey puts wheat at the center of the glass. A deliberately simple mash bill of red wheat, white wheat, and malted barley gives the spirit room to show wheat’s soft, layered character.
The whiskey rests a minimum of two years in full-size oak barrels and is bottled at 95 proof (47.5% ABV) in a 750 ml bottle. Tasting is soft and nuanced, with gentle grain sweetness, subtle oak, and a smooth, balanced finish — refined enough to sip neat, with enough structure to hold up in cocktails.
Every stage, from grain milling through barrel maturation, is handled in-house. The three co-founders bring engineering backgrounds from the Colorado School of Mines to that process, an approach built on technical precision alongside creative vision.
