Description
Etna Rosso 2020 is a natural wine crafted by , on the Mount Etna volcano in the Sicily region in . This red wine is made with mostly with a small proportion of Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante and Minnella grapes typical of the volcano and winemaking here.
The grapes come from around 70-year-old vines on volcanic soils. After manual harvest, fermentation starts spontaneously, followed by around three weeks of maceration. The wine then ages for 12 months in cement tanks and is bottled without added sulphites.
We have not yet tried this vintage but expect a somewhat rustic and punk rock approach to Etna Rosso here based on previous experiences.
