Five decades and more in cask shaped this Speyside single malt from The Singleton, released as part of the Paragon of Time series at 43.1% ABV in a 750 ml bottle. Fifty-four years of careful cask management sit behind it, a study in how extended maturation reshapes a whisky’s character layer by layer.
The palate is warm and complex, with oak, spice and dried fruit woven through it, closing on a smooth finish that lingers. The Paragon of Time series was conceived to examine the role time plays in a whisky’s development, and this bottling from the distillery follows that thread to considerable maturity.
