These Pinot Noir vines (30 years old) located in the commune of Saint-Gengoux-Le-National, on clay-limestone soil, facing southeast. In the cellar, there is 70% whole bunch vinification in concrete vats with 18 days of vatting
Tastewise, this has no added sulphites but a more classic Burgundy approach, with notes of blackcurrant and vanilla.
Who is Sextant in Burgundy?
Juilien Atlaber started working for Domain Derain, as legend Dominque Derain’s right hand man. The two formed a strong friendship, and over the years Julien started to release his own Negoce wines under the name Sextant. Dominque Derain decided to retire, and Julien Altaber now runs the domaine with his wife and partner Carole Schwab. They run both Sextant and Domaine Derain from the same cellar in Saint-Aubin.
