Description
Private Stock takes Scotti’s Original Springs® Straight Bourbon as its starting point and sends it through two barrels instead of one. The whiskey spends its first year in a new charred American white oak barrel, then moves into a four-year-old Rittenhouse Rye barrel for two more years of maturation. Production is limited, and each bottle leaves the barrel at full strength with no water added.
At 63% ABV, the result is concentrated rather than gentle: vanilla and cocoa open the palate, followed by white pepper and black licorice, with a long finish of sweet chocolate and caramel. The mouthfeel is full and layered, showing what uncut whiskey tastes like straight from the cask. 750 ml.
