Description
In magnum, the NV (2021) Blanc de Blancs Écueil Trépail is stellar. It shows quite a bit more mid-palate creaminesss and texture than the same wine in bottle, the result of vinification and aging in barrel and more frequent movement of the bottled wine sur-pointe in the cellar, a sort of mini-bâtonnage in glass that paid off in spades. Citrus confit, white flowers, almond and a hint of tangerine peel all grace this stellar Champagne from Fred Savart. This is a fabulous Champagne, especially within the context of the year. All of the juice in this release is from 2021. Aged on capsule. Dosage is 1 gram per liter. Disgorged, January 2025.
