Description
More dense, structured, and backwards than the ’09, the unbelievably good 2007 Domaine Santa Duc Gigondas Grand Grenache 66 (100% Grenache from the oldest vines on the property) is locked and loaded, possessing deep kirsch liqueur and black raspberry styled fruit that’s intermixed with earthy, wild Provencal herb, flowers, licorice, and mineral qualities on the nose. Full-bodied and incredibly concentrated and structured on the palate, with brilliant freshness and purity, as well as a seamless, weightless texture and masses of ripe tannin, this absolutely monumental Gigondas needs another 4-6 years in the cellar, yet will have upwards of 25+ years or more of prime drinking. Brilliant on all accounts and hats off to Yves Gras for this stunning effort!
