Description
What starts as a 4-year-old straight rye takes a longer road at Sagamore Spirits. The whiskey spends an extra 30 months in vermouth, bitters, and cherry brandy casks, and those three components are blended together at the end. Bottled at 51.5% ABV in a 750 ml format.
The finishing work shows up in the glass: herbal aromatics lead into layers of rye spice, with dark cherry running underneath. Oak, spice, and dried fruit fill out a warm, complex profile that carries through a smooth, lingering finish, whether the whiskey goes into a Manhattan or is poured neat.
