Ryujin Single Malt Bourbon Cask is a Japanese single malt whisky produced at the Nirasaki Distillery in Yamanashi, matured entirely in ex-bourbon casks and presented in a striking rose-gold metal filigree sleeve with a dragon relief over a blue inner bottle, capped with a dragon-ball stopper. The bourbon-cask maturation is a deliberate choice, drawing out the sweeter, orchard-driven side of the malt while keeping the profile approachable and food-friendly.
The whisky pours a warm gold and opens with honey-drizzled vanilla, toasted oak, caramelized sugar, orchard fruit, and white floral notes. On the palate it moves through butterscotch and charred oak into baked apple, toasted almond, and a light spicy warmth, with some tasters also picking up graham cracker, vanilla, and mandarin orange. The finish is long and refined, closing on vanilla bean, honey, and a trace of smoke.
