Winemaker’s Notes
Robert Mondavi Private Selection Bourbon Barrels Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 is a unique and indulgent expression of this classic varietal, enhanced by its distinctive aging process. On the nose, it opens with rich aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and plum, intertwined with notes of vanilla, caramel, and toasted oak, all indicative of its time in bourbon barrels.
The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with robust flavors of dark fruit, complemented by hints of brown sugar, dark chocolate, and a touch of smoky spice. The bourbon barrel aging imparts a warmth and complexity that adds depth to the wine, creating a harmonious balance between the ripe fruit and the rich, oaky undertones. The finish is long and smooth, leaving lingering impressions of sweet vanilla and subtle bourbon spice.
