Description
This Planteray is a limited single cask from Fiji. It was distilled from molasses in 2019 and aged about five years.
Planteray ages its rums in the tropics, then in old Ferrand cognac casks in France. This one then rested in a coffee liqueur cask.
You smell roasted coffee and cacao, then dark caramel, molasses and vanilla. The sip is round, with soft tannins, toasted wood and gentle spice.
The finish is long, and the coffee and chocolate come back at the end. Sip it neat or with one ice cube, next to dark chocolate or nuts.
If you enjoy dessert-style rums, this cask is a treat while it lasts.
