Description
Distilled in Chile from grapes rather than agave, El Gobernador is a pisco and not a tequila, despite the category label it sometimes carries. The reservado designation points to careful grape selection and a period of maturation, giving the spirit a settled, even character at 40% ABV in a 750 ml bottle.
The profile leads with grape, joined by floral notes and a citrus lift. It drinks smoothly, with enough layered complexity to hold interest on its own or to carry a cocktail built around a South American base spirit.
