Penelope Rosé Cask Finish is the first release in Penelope Bourbon’s Cooper Series, which takes the brand’s straight bourbon on a tour of the world’s finest wine regions. This one marries Penelope’s signature four-grain bourbon with hand-selected French Grenache Rosé wine casks from the Southern Rhône region, finished for about four months before bottling. Non-chill filtered and bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV).
A Wine Cask Finish With No Direct Competition
Rosé-cask-finished bourbon is genuinely rare; most cask-finished whiskeys turn to Port, Sherry, or other fortified wines. The Southern Rhône Grenache casks bring a red-fruit brightness that layers over Penelope’s bourbon without masking its grain character, giving the whiskey a faint rose hue alongside its usual amber color.
