Description
Oceano Azul Fairway Cognac XO spends a minimum of 10 years maturing before bottling at 40% ABV. The aromas lean toward dried fruit and roasted almonds, with vanilla running underneath. On the palate it turns rounder and softer: figs and honey first, then dark chocolate and a thread of cinnamon that keeps the sweetness in check. The finish is long, warm and smooth.
The 700 ml bottle is shaped like a golf bag, finished with fine detailing and topped by a golf ball stopper, so the packaging is as distinctive as what is inside. It reads as both a cognac for someone who pays attention to what is in the glass and a piece worth keeping on display, whether it is kept or given to a golfer.
