Description
New Riff 8 Year Rye is the first older version of New Riff’s flagship Kentucky straight rye. The mash is simple: 95% rye and 5% malted rye.
It ages at least eight years in toasted and charred American oak. It is bottled at 100 proof without chill filtration.
You smell rye grass, cinnamon, clove, and red apple. The palate is medium-bodied, with light oak, a sweet core, and juicy spearmint. Clove, mint, and peppercorn last long on the finish.
It won Double Gold at the 2024 Barleycorn Awards and Gold at the 2025 New Orleans Spirits Competition. Sip it neat, or stir it into a bold Manhattan or Sazerac.
