Description
Symphony Series No. 2 from Mijenta is a reposado built around barrel experimentation. The tequila rests roughly 8 months in custom symphony barrels assembled from oak staves sourced in Minnesota, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Virginia, with each wood type adding its own layer to the final blend. The base spirit comes from fully mature highlands agave, and the bottling strength is 45% ABV in a 750 ml format.
The texture is rich on the palate, opening with agave, vanilla, caramel and banana. Behind those come chocolate, almond and mint, finishing with spice from cardamom and clove. Coconut, fruit and warming spice notes round out an expression shaped as much by the staves as by the agave.
