Distilled and bottled in Kentucky, Michter’s 25 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a limited release that spends more than 25 years in fire-charred new American white oak barrels. It goes into the 750 ml bottle at 116.2 proof (58.1% ABV), a strength that carries the weight of its long maturation.
The whiskey pours rich and full-bodied, with molasses, holiday spice, chocolate, smoke-roasted nuts and dried fruit layered over melted butter and vanilla. Oak drives the finish, which stretches out well past the last sip.
