Description
Merry Edwards Anderson Valley comes from Mendocino County, California. The 2022 draws on Carney Ranch in Boonville, organic Dach Vineyard in Philo and Pinoli in the Deep End.
Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden had the grapes hand-picked and hand-sorted. They were fully destemmed and cold-soaked for three days. The wine aged 10 months in French oak, 42% of it new. It is 14.5% ABV.
In your glass, you will find wild berries, strawberry and red cherry, plus blue and stone fruit. Forest floor and a savory note add depth. The palate is balanced, with floral and herbal touches of oregano and thyme. Anise lingers on the finish.
Wine Review Online gave the 2022 96 points and The Tasting Panel 95. Jeb Dunnuck scored it 94, Wine Spectator 92. Try it with roast duck or salmon.
