Description
Glera grapes grown on the sunny hillsides of Veneto and Friuli in north-eastern Italy form the base of this extra dry sparkling wine. The climate there ripens the fruit slowly, giving the finished Prosecco its lively aromatics at 11.5% ABV in a 187 ml bottle.
Look for natural touches of apple, banana, peach and thyme across a crisp, fresh palate. Serve it over ice, pour it at brunch or offer it as an aperitivo; the small format also works well as a gift. Since 2009 an appellation has protected the Prosecco region, and only wines from its vineyards may carry the name.
