Description
Marcotte Fall Harvest Picks is a seasonal selection of flavored moonshine from Marcotte Distilling Company. The family-run distillery sits in Philomath, Oregon, a small town west of Corvallis. Joe and Janelle Marcotte opened their storefront there in March 2018.
Their moonshine starts with a corn whiskey base. Natural flavors are added after that, so fruit and spice come through clearly. The full lineup includes cozy autumn flavors such as Apple Pie and Pumpkin Spice.
This fall pick is all about orchard fruit and warm spice. You taste caramelized apple first, then cinnamon and nutmeg. It brings to mind a warm slice of apple pie. Soft corn sweetness and a light touch of vanilla sit underneath. On the nose, look for baked apple, brown sugar and gentle spice, plus a faint hint of oak.
The texture is soft and easy, even with all that flavor. The finish stays smooth, with sweet apple and mild spice that fade slowly. Nothing feels heavy, so a second pour comes naturally.
You can sip it neat, chill it or pour it over ice. It also mixes well with apple cider or ginger ale. On a cold night, try it in a hot toddy. Serve it with apple desserts, spiced cake, sharp cheddar or roasted pork. If you love seasonal flavors, this set is an easy choice for fall gatherings.
