(from Rugiens Bas). More prominent wood influence includes touches of menthol and toast on the elegant aromas of ripe but cool and airy red pinot fruit that is trimmed in earth and spice whiffs. There is excellent richness and cut to the powerful and muscular medium-bodied flavors that display outstanding length on the very firm finale where the only reproach is a hint of warmth. This is a classic Rugiens that will require time to soften and harmonize.
