In this rich, cambisol soil, Félix tends to a diverse bounty—agave, maize, squash, and beans. Between cultivating seasonal crops, Félix crafts mezcal using agave species planted among the rows, distilling on specialized Ejutla equipment that achieves remarkable proof in a single pass.
On Fridays, Félix journeys to the Ocotlan Market, selling his mezcal to fund a neighborhood store run by his wife and daughter.
