Description
Maker’s Mark RC6 is the 2019 Wood Finishing Series release. Fully matured, cask-strength Maker’s Mark goes into a barrel fitted with ten RC6 staves. These virgin American oak staves are seasoned outdoors for 18 months, then toasted. Only 255 barrels were made, bottled at 108.2 proof.
You get rich toasted oak on the nose, with raisins, dark cherries and brown sugar. The palate is sweet yet dry, with cinnamon, black pepper and dried fruit. The finish is long and warm, with peppery spice over dry oak.
Sip it neat, or add a few drops of water. Serve it with BBQ ribs or pecan pie.
