Description
Maker’s Mark FAE-02 is the 2021 limited release in the Wood Finishing Series. FAE stands for fatty acid esters. They stay in because the bourbon is never chill filtered.
The matured Kentucky bourbon spent about nine weeks with double-heat-treated virgin French oak staves. The barrels rested in the cool limestone cellar. It is bottled at cask strength, 109.1 proof.
The nose brings toasty oak, sweetened by caramel and light brown sugar. The palate is mouthcoating, with light caramel, deep oak and spice. The finish is long and even, with oak and baking spice.
Enjoy it neat, maybe with pecan pie or smoked brisket.
