Description
Maestro Dobel Silver Oak Extra Añejo is a limited edition 100% agave extra añejo tequila bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in a 750 ml bottle. It is slow double-distilled in copper pot stills to take only the heart of the distillate, rested in American oak barrels, then finished in Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels.
The tequila is translucent with an intensely bright amber color accented by gold and bright orange sparkles. The aroma is intensely complex, with cooked agave and ripe fruits, caramel and vanilla from the selected aging barrels, subtle red fruit notes characteristic of Silver Oak wine, and elegant buttery accents.
Its abundant flavor fills the palate, with the influence of select woods adding elegance and smoothness. Citrus notes of mandarin brighten and freshen the liquid, while dried fruit notes of figs and dates give roundness, and the agave origins remain evident after time in barrel. The finish is elegant, long and silky smooth. The bottling was created to mark two 50th anniversaries: that of Silver Oak Cellars, California’s iconic winery and a leading producer of Cabernet Sauvignon, and the 50th year of 11th-generation Master Tequilero Juan Dobel, founder of Maestro Dobel.
