Description
Savagnin ‘En Boutasse’ 2023 is a natural wine crafted by , in the Jura region in . This slightly orange wine is made with grapes which spent 21 days macerating on the skins and fermenting in stainless steel for 10 months. The plot En Boutasse is a newish plot acquired by Valentin Morel which used to be managed by his family, and was recently converted as chemical free, having previously been farmed conventionally.
This wine is awesome! And despite it’s colour, it does not seem to have the tannic strcuture of most serious oranges. Perhaps there has been a technique with the maceration of the skins only partially, rather than the whole amount. We enjoyed beautiful notes of Melon, Cedarwood, Tumeric Spice, Clementine, White Petter, Candied Citrus and Salt.
