Description
Face B Savagnin Ouillé is a natural wine crafted by , in the Jura region in . This white wine is made with grapes, which are taken from vines grown on grey marl and lias. The wine is aged for 18 months in 500l neutral oak foudre.
This BEAUTIFUL wine has elements of chalk, candied lemon, lime margarita, salt, meadow flowers. What a delight to enjoy!
What does “ouillé” mean?
Ouillé means the barrels are topped up as the wine evaporates, so no air gap forms and no flor (the yeast layer behind Vin Jaune) develops. That is why Face B tastes fresh and salty rather than nutty and oxidative, and why it is a great Savagnin to start with if Vin Jaune feels like a step too far.
