Description
Nick Offerman Meets Islay
The Lagavulin Offerman Edition is a collaboration between Lagavulin and actor, woodworker, and self-proclaimed whisky enthusiast Nick Offerman — a man whose love of Lagavulin is as legendary as the distillery itself. The Caribbean Cask Expression takes the iconic Islay peat smoke of Lagavulin and finishes it in Caribbean rum casks, adding a layer of tropical sweetness and warmth that softens the smoke without diminishing its power. The result is a uniquely approachable Lagavulin — still unmistakably Islay, but with a rum-kissed sweetness that makes it one of the most intriguing expressions the distillery has produced.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Peat smoke and tropical sweetness — coconut, vanilla, and a hint of banana with the signature Lagavulin iodine and sea salt beneath
- Palate: Smooth and surprisingly approachable — rum-soaked dark fruit, toffee, and a gentle peat smoke that builds softly over a foundation of Caribbean sweetness
- Finish: Medium-long with lingering smoke, tropical fruit, and a warm, rum-spiced fade
