Tobala agave sits at the center of this unaged mezcal from La Reliquia. The variety grows small and takes considerable work to harvest, and its payoff is a layered flavor profile that comes through clearly when the spirit goes unrested. Bottled at 45% ABV in a 750 ml format, this joven expression carries smoke alongside agave sweetness, tropical fruit, herbal notes and a peppery, lively edge, showing Tobala without the influence of wood.
