Description
Alice Bouvot makes vibrant and often totally unique wines in the Jura region of France.
This Sylvaner is a Négoce wine, with grapes harvested by Alice and her team at Domaine René Clauss in Ergersheim, Alsace. The vines are grown on a mix of white and grey marl. The grapes spent six weeks on the skins as whole bunches followed by 9 months on lees.
This orange wine has delightful floral aromas, juicy apricots and herbal notes. There are some integrated volatile touches and smooth tannins.
Documentary on Domaine de l’Octavin
This was one of our earliest natural winemaker documentaries, shot mainly on iPhone. Visiting Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l’Octavin in Arbois, Jura again was a true pleasure. Alice is a gentle soul, thoughtful and somewhat spiritual. Couple this with her dedication to relentless hard work and pursuit of keeping her vineyards in the healthiest, happiest state and its no surprise Domaine de l’Octavin wines are highly sought after around the world.
