Description
Mystere 2023 (formally known as Mus’Cat) by Alice Bouvot of Domaine de is made in Arbois Jura, but the grapes are Negoce and taken from elsewhere. Formally called Mus’Cat, now this wine is called Mystere for administrational / customs reasons we hear, perhaps something to do with the Muscat grape name.
Flavourwise this makes for a kooky, expressive experience with floral and aromatic Muscat of course shining through. There are touches of pear, bruised apples, cream and buttercup flowers with a playful volatile kick on the nose to. Armed with some funk and ready to give you a different side to Muscat wines.
This wine is totally unique! Whilst is will not be for everyone, love it or not, it’s certainly different!
Documentary on Domaine de l’Octavin
This was one of our earliest natural winemaker documentaries, shot mainly on iPhone. Visiting Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l’Octavin in Arbois, Jura again was a true pleasure. Alice is a gentle soul, thoughtful and somewhat spiritual. Couple this with her dedication to relentless hard work and pursuit of keeping her vineyards in the healthiest, happiest state and its no surprise Domaine de l’Octavin wines are highly sought after around the world.
