Description
Each year’s Loch Gorm release pairs Islay peat with oloroso sherry wood, and the 2023 Sherry Cask Edition follows that path at 46% ABV. Heavily peated single malt spends its maturation in oloroso sherry casks, so iodine-tinged smoke sits alongside deep dried-fruit richness rather than competing with it.
The result is layered: peat smoke and maritime salt up front, with dark chocolate, dried apricot, leather and warming spice filling in behind. Bottled in a natural presentation that keeps the distillery character intact, this 750 ml release comes from Kilchoman on Islay.
